An assignment to create an illustration within a context. For this project I chose a book cover spread for Diana Wynne Jones' novel Howl's Moving Castle.
The inspiration for the cover, was the first time the protagonist Sophie encounters the heart of the castle Calcifur. A rambunctious fire demon who is described as a flame with a distinct face, tinted with different colours. The back of the cover is the door leading into the room.
